This list is not meant to be the "last word" on
these various controls, nor are they the ONLY controls that
Multi-DNC will interface with. CNC controls encountered in the field
can have many variations of software contained within them that
may affect their ability to interface with Multi-DNC. For
example, not all CNC controls can run in a DNC (Direct Numerical Control
- Drip Feed) mode from their RS-232 port, they may require software
and/or hardware options installed on them to do so. Multi-DNC
can interface to ANY CNC control that can bi-directionally communicate
over an RS-232 serial port using ASCII/ISO code and uses a software or
hardware handshake protocol. Additionally, it can also
communicate with any other serial devices such as BTR (Behind
the Tape Reader) boards or serial tape punches. Spectrum CNC
Technologies also supports some other types of specialized serial
protocols. Please contact Richmond Machine & Engineering directly for further information.
